Brooklyn World Record Day
Of all the World Records set at the Brooklyn Lyceum on Saturday, April 4th 2009 the foremost among them may very well be the World Record for the most World Records set in one day in Brooklyn. Following a presentation by URDB Co-Founders Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson and an inspirational speech by multi-record holder Jake Bronstein, the 50+ kid record-attempters got down to work. It was an awesome display of creativity, intensity and tenacity (see partial list of records set below). The day climaxed with all 100 attendees, adults and kids, setting a new world record for the Largest Beatbox Rendition Of James Brown’s ‘I Got You (I Feel Good)’ led by Adam Matta, D-Cross and Kid Lucky, three of the world’s most renowned beatboxers. The video documentation of all the records set that day will be available shortly at URDB.org, but until then enjoy these fabulous photos shot by URDB & Beam staffer Emily Wilson. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Neighbors Helping Neighbors (http://www.nhnhome.org/), an organization empowering low and moderate income Brooklyn residents to secure quality housing and build financial assets.
